Stress, anxiety, and massage
The word 'stress' can even bring about stress, just hearing it can make the hairs on the back of the neck stand on end for some people. It does get a bad rap. However, SOME stress is good for us. It's what I call motivational stress. I have a wee sliding scale on my consultation form where clients can score from 1 to 10 how much stress they feel.
Surviving Christmas/The Holidays/Winter
December! All rules are out of the window! Chocolate for breakfast, an inability to find the 'off' switch when it come to Quality Street, and prosecco at 10am.
I'm writing this primarily for ME as I am having flashbacks to last Christmas and New Year when my sleep pattern basically went to the dogs, and I developed a habit of sleeping till 11am.
Me having an argument with my sleep pattern...
I've been giving this a lot of thought over the last few months. My sleep pattern. It's better than it was, but still not great. I've totally nailed going to bed earlier and not watching TV so late, but sometimes my sleep is so broken, I still feel shattered when my alarm goes off, so guess what? I hit the snooze button.
How I managed to set myself up to fail
Just recently, I got to thinking about how I am actually managing to talk myself in and out of situations, and setting myself up for failure.
Yup! It's moments like this just that it can just creep on me, and I have an 'a ha!' moment and realise what I'm doing.
How to keep chipper when it's cold and miserable outside!
Oh Crikey. I've felt this way since December or so. I wake up and I have no idea what time it is. It's dark in the morning, it's dark during the day, and then Jungle Dark descends (Billy Connolly joke, 'WTF happened to twilight?)
Go Get 'em Tiger!
I was fortunate enough to shoot the breeze over exotic tea, with a good friend, talking about 'life', and this one is inspired by her. Thank you LC.
Start as you mean to go on...
I kinda have two keywords that have been in my head lately, thinking about the year ahead.
Freedom
and
Drop It.
1 Minute, 1 Month, 1 Year
I am the master of this one, so this has been a valuable learning curve for me too..
Hands up if you are a worrier! My hand is up.
Ideas for reducing stress...
This month, I have had the pleasure of helping clients who have decided to build in massage to their stress management programme. In this age of not being to fully switch off, and the blessing/curse that is the smart phone, I have noticed an increase in the difficulty people have at not just work/life balance, but indeed work/life separation.
Instant Weight Loss Tip!
Here it is... Stand up straight! Really! This is an area of development for me too, I dash around most places with a rucksack on my back during the working week, and recently I have really had to be alot more aware of exactly how I am treating my back, and what support I am giving my body.
