Two steps forward, no steps back.

Forward momentum is so important, now more than ever.

Sometimes moving forward can also mean moving away from things in order to make your day better.

So here’s the big question what is holding you back? It’s something that I have just put my finger on this week. Here’s what is holding me back:

Watching too much TV

Doom scrolling on social media.

Hitting the snooze button.

That’s it. Nothing huge, but those 3 activities are holding me back from:

Reading a book

Writing my book on menopause

Further study for making body balms (my kitchen looks like a chemistry lab just now)

I know what I have to do, in order to make the space for what I want to do, so why am I not doing it.

Apathy.

Thats the word that has just come into my head as I type this. Would you recognise it in yourself? I find myself getting so caught up in getting my information virtually and getting FOMO over the news, that I am forgetting to take steps forward for myself.

The other factor to think about is that the things that are holding me back, bring limited joy. You turn the TV off and its over, I put my phone down and there is no tangible joy, whereas if I read a book, or knuckle down and write mine, then ding dong its something I have done for myself!

It’s all down to spending our time wisely.

Something that I say to my clients is that I never want them to feel like time spent with me has been a waste of time, I want my clients to know that they have had a massage, and that the time they have spent with me has been worth it. We should apply that thought process to ourselves as often as we can. Never do anything that feels like a waste of time.

Onwards!
